Our dedicated, cloud-hosted FileMaker servers run on redundant, enterprise-grade infrastructure with fast NVMe storage, daily backups, and SSL included, and supports FileMaker Pro, FileMaker Go, and WebDirect out of the box.
Every server also gets our purpose-built firewall, DoS monitoring, and brute-force protection, plus automatic point-version updates (like 19.0 to 19.4) at no extra charge.
FileMaker 16–18 requires Windows Server. FileMaker 19–26 runs on either Windows or Ubuntu — it's genuinely your choice either way. Your FileMaker license and how you actually use the server are identical on both, since Claris doesn't restrict which OS you host on. Ubuntu costs less, simply because there's no Windows Server license to pay for.

Add-on services
A daily backup stored off-site and retained for 30 days — separate from the standard backups included on every server. With it, the server keeps 3 days of its own backups instead of 7.
Monitoring with automatic restart if the server goes down, third-party FileMaker plugin installs, and major version upgrades (like going from 19 to 20) — handled for you.
A Thawte SSL123 certificate for your own domain name, so your team connects at an address like fms.yourdomain.com. Need a domain? We can register that too. We can also install the certificate for you for $25/yr.

FileMaker Cloud is a good fit when you want Claris to run everything and your solution uses no server-side plug-ins. Running your own server gives you total control, along with the patching, security and backups that come with it. A managed dedicated server is the middle path: the control and plug-in support of your own server, with someone else watching it. Not sure which you need?
